Portrait of Words - #22 Instructions

Aloha. Here are you pictures to be used for your story that is due December 1, 2009. All of these photos again come from Vermin Inc.. Mahalo for letting us use the photos. Please use all of the photos. In addition to this your story will have to follow the song to the show "Welcome Back Kotter". I have included a copy of the lyrics so you know how the song goes and also a You Tube Video so you can hear the song for yourself. I thought it would be interesting to add a twist to Portrait Of Words this time around. Please don't think that it can't be done, because it can. It's fun and will get your brain thinking. You can be very clever with it. Have a great weekend :)

Lyrics to "Welcome Back Kotter"
Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out.
Welcome back to that same old place that you laughed about.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they’re turned around.
Who’d have thought they’d lead ya  (Who’d have thought they’d lead ya)
Back here where we need ya  (Here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot cause we’ve got him on the spot,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

To The City

Juanita was very excited , She and her father were going to the city.

She was going to ride on a bus for the very first time.
They were going to Managua . Not that Juanita didn't like her little town. She did. It had wonderful scenery.
On every side.
.
It had a beautiful old Church .

Her father was an important man. He ran the fork lift at the food supply warehouse.
But Managua was like the Emerald City in the Oz books she read. It was the center of everything. It was the Capital. It had shopping. It had a bigger Cathedral. And she was going there and on a bus. Life was perfect.
The Newspaper headline read " Killed in the cross fire between the Contras and the Sandinistas was a little girl named Juanita. She was standing in front of the burned out Cathedral when a bullet ricocheted and hit her. More collateral damage from this useless war.

*****This is a true story of sorts. When I was in Managua it was being told by the driver of the bus that took us around. He showed us the bullet holes in the wall from the last fire fight.
