Henry Lee Duke

Sung to the Beverly Hillbillies theme

Come and listen to a story 'bout Henry Lee Duke

He lived with his family at a cabin in the woods
He thought he was bacon and then he got the news

A dog named Luke caught dinner fer them all.

Fresh Chicken, Fried Hearts, Gizzards too.

Well the first thing you know ole Duke is snorting loud
Kinfolk said "Duke jump into the mud"

Said "You is safe fer yet another day"
Ole Duke was happy and grateful fer being alive today

Hills, that is. Flying Eagles, Deers and all.

Well now is time to say good bye to Duke and all his kin
And Duke would like to give his thanks to Luke fer saving him.
Tomorrow is always another day that Duke will have to live.
And worry bout the fryin pan and apples in his mouth.

Hillbilly that is. What a life. Keep on oinking.
Duke ya be safe now y'hear.

Regards,

Henry Lee Duke

He'd better take good care of himself, or he ends up in a freezer full of frozen pig? LOL

Now that is a unique way to look at the prompt! My story isn't finished, so sorry to say it will be late!

A new classic! The kids loved it and don't even know the original tune--so I had to sing it to them and I can't sing worth you-know-what.

I'd give it a standing ovation BUT I've had that flippin' song in my head (or should I say 'mah haid') for two days now thanks to you. Pffftttttt!!

(I tried to comment earlier but the comment form kept bouncing me out--thanks for reminding me to come back!)

I finally posted mine. Sorry for being late, but I've been out of town.
